SYNOPSIS:

“Doomsday” is an award-winning episodic drama that follows the daily lives of the residents of a matriarchal cult and explores the gray area where youthful idealism evolves into deadly extremism.

ABOUT THE DIRECTORS:

Sonja O’Hara is a multi award winning filmmaker and actress. This year she (and co-director Jaspal Binning) were featured in INDEPENDENT Magazine’s “10 Filmmakers to Watch in 2017”, chosen by a jury from MovieMaker Magazine, the Sundance Institute and Austin Film Festival.

Jaspal Binning is a British Indian actor and director. He made his television debut as Joel on HBO’s “The Newsroom” and is a series regular on the TV series “Brown Nation”.

SYNOPSIS:

The Feels follows the awkward and endearing Charlie, a bi illustrator and high school teacher trying to navigate adulthood and queerhood. Rather than present a traditional story arc, each episode of the show is more a series of tender human moments – a live-action comic strip, a daily dose of humanity.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR:

Tim Manley is a writer, storyteller, and educator. He and Naje Lataillade are the co-creators, co-directors, and writers of The Feels – an online show about a bi guy with way too many feelings. Tim is also the writer and illustrator of the book Alice in Tumblr-land, published by Penguin and optioned for TV by 20th Century Fox. His storytelling has been featured on HBO’s Girls, The Moth Radio Hour, Gimlet’s Surprisingly Awesome, and in his FringeFAVE solo show, Feelings.

SYNOPSIS:

A new series of mockumentary shorts that focuses on Brooklyn’s most underrepresented characters—people who may or may not exist.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR:

Chris is a NY Emmy winning Producer and Director of Photography. Currently at BRIC TV, he pioneered as the channel’s first full time Director of Photography. Chris is a one-man-band, often seeing projects through every aspect of production. He has produced, shot and edited countless documentaries for BRIC, while carving out an aesthetic for Brooklyn’s premiere arts and culture channel. Chris’ work in scripted content includes serving as the DoP on the award winning series The Van Gogh Show, and 2nd camera/2nd unit DoP for the feature film Blue Line (recently acquired by Lionsgate.) He’s worked with UCB and their talent-pool creating sketch comedy shorts, and as a player and consultant with the Deconstructive Theatre Project on their experimental live video/theatrical productions at Here Arts NYC.

SYNOPSIS:

When a hard-working entrepreneur sets her sites on the opportunity of a lifetime, she unexpectedly meets the man of her dreams and feels forced to decide between pursuing career success or having a family.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR:

Catherine Fordham (director, producer) is a New York-based director, producer and writer. After writing and producing Trapped Girl (2014), a short film that screened at festivals in the U.S and Canada, Catherine made her directorial debut with Consommé (2015), a thriller/horror short. Consommé is now streaming on Shudder.com, AMC’s horror site and was featured in the Huffington Post. Following Consommé, Catherine directed and co-produced the first four episodes of a mini series, Best Thing You’ll Ever Do, shot in NYC and the Bay Area in July 2016. Now streaming on Seed&Spark, Best Thing took home the Emerging Voices Award at the Brooklyn Web Fest in 2016 and is nominated for 6 awards at Series Fest, including Best Director. In 2016 Catherine attended Werner Herzog’s Rogue Film School in Munich, Germany. She is currently developing Wild Cry Ha, a thriller feature film. Catherine created Top Salt Studio to produce her own work, and that of her talented friends.

ABOUT THE CREATOR:

Liliana is a New York City based Indian American actress, writer, and producer. She is graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. She is the creator of Period Piece, a comedic web series that explores women in different periods of history… having their periods. Seasons one and two have over 1.4 million views on YouTube, and were featured on Cosmopolitan, Seventeen, Women’s Health, Marie Claire France, India Today, and many more. Period Piece just won Best Original Comedy Web Series on Elizabeth Banks’ comedy site WhoHaHa. Additionally, Liliana was one of five finalists on WhoHaHa for Favorite Impersonation for her impression of Donald Trump, alongside fellow nominees Kate McKinnon and Melissa McCarthy. She continues to write comedic content that promotes social change. She also loves pizza. A lot. Like a lot, a lot.

1 Minute Meal is a documentary web series that uses food to reveal the communities, legacies, dreams, realities, and unseen forces that shape life in New York City. The purpose of this work—which has been exhibited online, in theatres, and in visual arts spaces—is to create a more inclusive and dignified media portrayal of diversity in the United States.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR:

James boo is a multimedia producer and documentary filmmaker based in Brooklyn. He is currently a Just Films Fellow in residence at the Made in NY Media Center by IFP, where he works to advance the cause of diversity in media.

SYNOPSIS:

Eddie and her three best friends are looking for love, sex, and companionship, but a string of bizarre internet meetups make them question the sanity of dating. Inspired by real events, Tinder is the Night is a short digital comedy that chronicles the online dating adventures of Eddie and her three girlfriends in New York City and the gorgeous, ugly, sexy, kinky, fantastically weird men and women they meet along the way. In the pilot, poor, dorky Eddie is excited about a hot first date, and her best friends try to help her comprehend the intricacies of online romance.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR:

MISHA CALVERT is an actor, writer, director, and producer with projects spanning theater, film, TV and digital. Her dramatic digital series Solitaire is a finalist in the Sundance/YouTube New Voices Lab for 2017, and her comedy The Industry was a finalist in 2016. Her short films Pee Sitting Down and Tinder is the Night are currently screening at festivals around the world.
