Papa Jah, a humble gardener, has lived in the Bahamas for 40 years. He returns to Haiti to see his 103 year old father and reunite with the land he left.
ABOUT THE DIRECTOR:
Miquel is a filmmaker born in Barcelona and based in the Caribbean. He has worked as a Director, Producer, Photographer & Editor for more than 25 years. With experience in television, commercials & feature film production, he has traveled extensively and filmed on location around the world. His documentary “Songs Of Redemption” won the best documentary award at Krakow film festival in 2014 & his feature documentary “Art Connect” won the premier award at the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival.
Tyler is an award-winning, Producer, Director, and Actor, with Caribbean and American roots. His work as an artist and filmmaker is recognized internationally and throughout the Caribbean, including the National Art Gallery of the Bahamas’ permanent collection. His short film “Five Bones” won the RBC First Look Caribbean Award in 2011 & in 2015 his Feature documentary, “My Father’s Land” was awarded the Amnesty International Human Rights award. Tyler is also the founder of the Portland Maine Film Festival.
